Do More by Doing less?

The “ less you do, the more you make “ was one of the important statements made by Brad Fallon on Next Internet Millionaire ep.#6. Now this is no surprise to me because I understand the concept of outsourcing work. One person can not do all the work that is necessary to accomplish the task at hand much less to succeed at the task. This is one of the things I enjoyed about the phone conference I had with one of the most successful Affiliate marketers around: Ben Moskel [ article: Affiliate marketer makes $54,020 a year ]. He brought up the fact that everyone uses email - but so few use it’s great auto-response feature.

But in this article I want to get at how to simply do more online, by getting others to do it for you - using the Web 2.0 experience. So I started thinking, if I was just starting out and couldn’t afford to outsource work, or just wanted to multiply my efforts without doing more or hiring help - how could I do it?….. And Automation came to my mind. Get one action to be multiplied over and over with out no effort by me. Sort of like the reason why webmasters work so hard to get that high ranking on Google. Once you get their your efforts are multiplied a hundred fold [ meaning millions of traffic ]. So here is what I came up with:

1- Build Traffic to affiliate site by submitting URL?  Your probably thinking what good does this do me. Most affiliate site are duplicate sites or redirected url’s and will never get on the top search engines. Well, we’re not shooting for the top three. That’s right, go for the smaller sites that have less restrictions. Search sites that will place your direct url linking to your affiliate site where if not thousands atleast hundreds will find it. After all - their easier to get on and you never have to worry about seo - and it goes straight to your affiliate site [ make sure your urls work correctly and does not violate any affiliate rules ].

2-Social Sites - making no close friends.  In the web 2.0 world, who hasn’t heard about Myspace and facebook and the many others. But while many have thought of using social sites to sell their products - they’ve found it to be very frustrating.

What many people fail to realize is that you are not their to make close friends. Many people feel that they have to make friends and spend a lot of time trying to communicate with everyone they know. The key is building relationships - what I mean is acquaintances that feel they can trust you a stranger. Take for example all of the models, go go dancers and the like myspace profiles. They’ve mastered the social sites because they build and manage sites that they change every month or so, fill with attractive pictures and info - then they never directly deal with all the friends that want to join. If you were to go to any of the popular “model” pages you will find two interesting things : one - they have over 10,000 friends that visit regularly. Two: they often have a notice that says openly “ sorry can’t respond to your comments or emails, just have to many friends and have decided not to contact people directly” and people are satisfied with just getting a bulletin from them ….. Amazing. Yes you say but that’s soft porn, I’ve seen news profiles do the same on myspace - it can be done.

3- Go old school and build groups and memberships: Before myspace, facebook and all the social sites - we had email groups and the online groups [ yahoo groups ]. These methods were used to creat a large group of what we now call “online friends”. The reason I like this and think it works well is because it is the kind of automation we want. Think of it, you start a group and you feed them info. and they feed friends info., soon you have hundreds of “friends” who have given you permission to send them emails informing them of “anything” [ ofcourse as long as it is related to what the group talks about ]. Not only do you have that group, but if they like what you offer, they will probably pass it a long to friends and family outside of the group. Talk about automation and multiplication.

4- Social Book marking [ best for last ]   I consider this the best way to multiply and automate your efforts - you can do more here by doing less. Here is a quick go thru - You join a book marking social site. You promote your urls, articles, etc… and people visit your urls and even vote on them. If you get high votes your url is posted higher, you can even end up on the front page of the site. By that simple act you can get thousands of visitors to your site. In one move you’ve done more than you could possibly do by yourself. I personally like to use netscape now called Propeller as my social book marking site. It can bring a lot of traffic to a site in one day if done correctly.
